- No container required — just bundle branches and bag leaves.

- During extreme heat events, Republic Services may start routes earlier or adjust schedules to protect workers. Ensure carts are out by 7:00 a.m.
- During winter ice or freeze events (which do occur in Arlington), Republic Services may suspend or delay service. Monitor City social media and arlingtontx.gov for official announcements.
- After a weather event, do not attempt to place items in frozen or icy streets. Wait for the City to announce when normal service resumes.
🚫 5 Common Mistakes Arlington Residents Make
- Leaving trash bags outside the gray cart — all bags must be inside the cart with the lid closed or they may not be collected
- Putting batteries or electronics in the recycling cart — they cause fires; take to Fort Worth ECC or periodic City recycling events
- Placing bulk items out on non-recycling weeks — bulk pickup is only every other week on your recycling day
- Forgetting recycling is every other week — confirm your A/B week with the My Area tool or Republic Services app
- Exceeding the 64-gallon extra recycling limit without knowing a $9.01 fee applies, or contaminating the blue cart ($33.49 fee)
