Our mission

TrashPickupScheduleDay.com exists to make it easy for U.S. residents to find their local trash, recycling, and bulk pickup schedules — without having to dig through city websites or call their municipal sanitation department.

We are an independent informational directory. We are not affiliated with any city government, waste management company, or private hauler. Every schedule, date, and policy published on this site has been researched by our editorial team and cross-referenced against official municipal sources.

How we source our information

We follow a strict sourcing hierarchy. All data on this site comes from one or more of the following, in order of preference:

  • Official city or county websites (.gov domains) — the primary source for pickup schedules, holiday delays, and accepted materials.
  • Official sanitation department pages — department-specific portals published directly by the municipality.
  • Official hauler schedules — when a city contracts a private hauler (e.g. Republic Services, Waste Management), we link to the hauler’s official schedule page for that jurisdiction.
  • Official press releases and municipal news bulletins — used for temporary schedule changes such as weather delays or service disruptions.

We do not use user-generated content, social media posts, forums, or third-party aggregators as primary sources. If official information is unavailable or ambiguous, we clearly note the uncertainty on the page rather than publishing a guess.

Our verification process

Before any city page goes live, all information goes through a four-step review:

Step 01
Primary source lookup
We locate the official city or sanitation department page and document the URL, the date it was last updated, and the date we accessed it.
Step 02
Cross-reference check
Where possible, we verify the data against a second official source — such as city press releases or 311 service pages — to confirm schedule accuracy.
Step 03
Holiday & exception review
We verify holiday delay policies individually per city. Many cities have unique rules — no delay, one-day shift, voluntary delay — that differ even within the same region.
Step 04
Editorial review
A final check is applied to all published data before the page goes live. Holiday tables and bulk pickup details receive additional scrutiny.

Update & accuracy policy

Trash pickup schedules change. Cities update their routes, switch hauling contracts, adjust holiday policies, and introduce new programs throughout the year. We take accuracy seriously:

  • Annual full review: Every city page is audited and updated at least once per year, typically in January when new annual schedules are published.
  • Seasonal checks: We review holiday delay tables before every major U.S. holiday period — Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
  • Ongoing monitoring: We monitor city press releases and official communications for unscheduled disruptions, such as snow emergencies or hauler contract changes.
  • Reader corrections: All reader-submitted corrections are reviewed and acted on within 48 business hours. See below for how to report an error.

Every city page displays the date the information was last verified. When a page is pending an update, we display a visible notice so readers know to double-check with their city directly.

Corrections & error reporting

We are human, and municipal governments sometimes update their schedules without advance notice. If you find an error — a wrong pickup day, an outdated holiday table, or a broken link to a city source — please let us know.

📬 Report an error

Email us at contact@trashpickupscheduleday.com with the city name, the incorrect information, and — if possible — a link to the official source showing the correct data. We will review within 48 business hours and publish a correction if confirmed.

Confirmed corrections are applied to the city page immediately. We update the “Last verified” date on the page each time a change is made, so readers can always see when the information was last checked.

Independence & monetization disclosure

TrashPickupScheduleDay.com is funded through display advertising (Google AdSense). Advertisers have no influence over our editorial decisions, the information we publish, or the cities we choose to cover. We do not accept payment to include, exclude, or prioritize any city, service, or hauler.

We include links to third-party resources such as official city websites, hauler portals, and recycling guides. These links are included solely because they are useful to the reader — we receive no compensation for linking to them.

If our monetization model changes in the future, we will update this policy promptly and disclose any commercial relationships that could affect our editorial content.

Limitations & disclaimer

TrashPickupScheduleDay.com provides informational content based on publicly available municipal data. While we make every effort to keep schedules accurate and up to date, pickup schedules can change without notice due to weather events, route changes, or hauler contract updates. Always verify your schedule directly with your city or hauler before a holiday or if your pickup appears delayed. We are not responsible for missed pickups resulting from reliance on this information.
