Toledo Waste Collection — Quick Facts
The City of Toledo contracts with Republic Services for residential trash and recycling collection. Garbage is collected weekly; recycling is collected every other week, both on the same weekday by address. Starting January 5, 2026, residents can also place up to 5 bulk items at the curb every week with their regular trash — no scheduling required. Use the official address map at toledo.oh.gov/trash-and-recycling-pickup-schedule to confirm your specific day.
Toledo’s Two-Container System — Gray & Blue
Every Toledo residential address receives two containers: a gray refuse container for garbage (weekly) and a blue recycling container (every other week). Both are picked up on the same weekday. All trash must be bagged inside the gray container. All recyclables must be loose and clean in the blue container — never bag your recyclables.
Gray Container — Garbage
All non-recyclable household waste. Bag and tie all trash before placing inside. Can be set out the night before pickup.
Weekly • Republic ServicesBlue Container — Recycling
